Questions we get asked
- What counts as a step?
- One tool call or one model call inside a run. A retry of the same step counts again, because it consumes the same resources — which is exactly why retry budgets exist.
- What happens when I hit my step limit?
- Runs in flight finish. New runs are rejected with a clear error rather than being silently queued. You can raise the limit from the dashboard at any point.
- Why price by steps instead of seats?
- Team size tells you nothing about how much automation a company runs. A four-person team can execute more steps than a two-hundred-person one, and charging them less for it would be arbitrary.
- Can I bring my own model provider keys?
- Yes, on every plan including Starter. Model spend then goes directly to your provider and is not marked up here.
- Do unused steps roll over?
- No. Capacity is provisioned monthly. If your usage is uneven, annual billing smooths the cost and the Scale plan has room for spikes.
- Is there a discount for annual billing?
- Annual works out to two months free against the monthly rate, billed once up front.
- What is your uptime commitment?
- 99.9 percent on Team and Scale, 99.95 percent with a contractual SLA on Enterprise. Historical uptime is on the status page, including the incidents.
- Can I self-host?
- On-premise and private VPC deployment is available on Enterprise, and is in early access for design partners now.
